- The International Conference on Mainstreaming Climate Change into International Fisheries Good Governance and Strengthening Fisheries Management Measures in the Indo-Pacific region has recently begun in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.
- The conference was inaugurated by Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Purushottam Rupala.
- In this, there will be a brainstorming session on India’s preparedness to adapt to the conditions arising from climate change in marine fisheries.
- Various sessions will be organized during this period in which research and educational institutions, community organizations and entrepreneurs will showcase their innovations and activities.
- Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are also participating in the conference.
